After thesis, I needed some therapy. What therapy I'm talking about? Want to go fishing say so lah! On tuesday morning, brought brooker to the mechanic yet AGAIN with Chen. Dropped her off and Chen needed the trailer to be conditioned up as well in case we're heading off to another further fishing location. After dropping Chen off at his office, I headed over to five dock again for the 3rd time. I wasn't keen at 1st but thought what the heck, I needed the therapy.
Reached there with the sun already up and burning. Tried a few plastics here and there only to get bitten off and snagged! Instantly I knew it was a stupid trip. The wind suddenly picked up and was blowing quite uncomfortably from the south. Switched to LC tango and lo and behold... I caught the bastards so famously raping our soft plastics, dear MR PUFFER aka toad!

Revenge was shweet!!! Muahahahahaha... But obviously I don't wanna turn into a bastard too and so it was safely returned although it did blow itself up when it was on land.. hahaha.. Then the tango finally managed to get me a bream! It was small but it took the lure hard-on.

The water was getting low fast. Switched to smaller profile lures and my favourite Ecogear SX-40 managed to snag me 2 flatties just before I left. This one was the biggest.

Wednesday night I was bloody bored at home. I was contemplating to either lure or go squidding. Checked that the wind was blowing northerly, so I opted to squid. Grabbed Egimax from Chen's bag and off I went to Greenwich. The conditions there was quite alright, the wind wasn't a pain-in-the-ass. While I just got there, there were 2 asian guys there too, and they turned out to be Kenny's greenwich pals. Anyway, I tried the new Yozuri Aurie-Q size 1.8 brown coloured squid jig Chen helped me buy from eBay to no effect. Next up was the Yamashita 2.0 jig I got from Singapore but there was no business. Time was running out as I only wanted to be there for 1 hour. After 45mins, I switched to my 1st jap jig which was a yozuri OITA size 2.0 in pink. I remembered squid jig has to be jigged over weed beds and being knowledgeable about the terrain at Greenwich, I dropped the jig over the beds and quickly jig it near the surface. Voila, 1st cast over the weeds and I got a take. Slowly reeled in the see that I still haven't jagged the squid yet. It really liked the Egimax scent and was holding on tight to the side. Kept the drag light and slowly reel in near the water surface. The moment I tried to lift it off the surface, the barbs successfully jagged its head. Quite a good size squid! Continued for another 30mins but no more takers. One squid for 1hr 15mins, diew!

The squid is freshly frozen in zip-lock bag and in newspaper for our kingie bait. Next up is an update on... LURES collection! Over the thesis period, got a sale and snap up somemore ammo of GULPS.

Bloody 2" pseed gulp grub still hasn't gotten me any good size breams! Then, even while writing thesis, I still can stray over to eBay. Got 2 more Lucky Craft lures, a Bevy Pencil 60 and a Bevy Prop 55. Both are topwater lures and most likely to be used in Sunny Singapore but will be added into my topwater lures collection. Got them because after a quick thinking bid, it cost me AU$24 for both which is damn cheap considering they are LuckyCraft lures!

Well, I guess now I better stop buying Jap lures. No more scholarship, damn!
