Yup, of all days, I must go lure on Friday the 13th. Actually, to be honest, I didn't even realised that it was friday the 13th till when I came back and surf a fishing forum that saw people complaining about bad luck in fishing on that day! A quick check on the computer clock and it was indeed correct. Anyway, before the chain of events which will occur, I received my belated birthday present from my bb bro Phillip. It was a collectors edition of a Rapala Tail Dancer! I was over the moon! Thanks phil, you made my day..

Definitely won't be using this gift, it's gonna be properly guarded! Anyway, out of boredom, I headed out for a evening last light session at Le Montage seeming the high-tide is kinda low. Reached there kinda late but seeing that the water line was quite high, I gave soft plastics the go 1st. Used my camo worm and got a small flattie, only to come back without the worm, bastard! Then, went for the gulp grub and still only managing just ok size flatties. Seems like flathead territory for that day.
As soon as the light fades to almost complete darkness, I randomly selected my LuckyCraft Tango 45SP. Bad luck on friday the 13th? Never mind, cos' LuckyCraft is called LUCKY for nothing! As soon as the 1st few casts were made, on a particular retrieve, it was hammered by an angry flattie near my feet. This flattie totally went berserk, taking line at a speed that I thought even a bream also can't achieve. Started to panic and tighten my 'possible' pussy-drag. Ok, finally managed to subdue her and to my surprise it was just a normal size flathead! Good fun I'd say!

Didn't measure her but i'll say it was legal. The tango was badly scratched as it was also again swallowed quite deep, and the obligatory head shakes of flattie's causes their teeth to take some paintwork off my precious tango, KNNBCCB! Nonetheless, I still like it to tango in the water. Not long later, kix suddenly goes zzzzz like there's no tommorrow! This run immediately made me orgase on the spot. As it was pitch black, I could see shit how my line moves. Followed the direction of how my rod tip moves and knew it was a bream run and might be a good size. A few more dashes and her fins got caught up on the 5lb Nitlon DARM fluorocarbon leader. As there was no steps around Le Montage, I had to lift it by the leader. It was harrowing but luckily she stayed still and a 31cm bream was forced to have her picture taken.

By then, the water was getting really low. Could feel that tango is getting near the bottom pretty fast after a few cranks. By then, I incorporate a slow lift approach and wind in the slack like working my soft plastics. Sometimes I had to resort to raising blackhole up to hopefully keep the bib up. But, this had risk, as it will cause the treble to lower, and thus possibly getting snag by the hooks. There was once when I got a minor snag and luckily it wasn't unmovable and it was out in no time. Continued and a baby bream wanted to attack this lure too.

Getting hungry and thinking about my nasi campur joint, I made the last few casts. Wind in like usual and then there was a pussy take and I gave a slight strike. At first I thought there was nothing but suddenly when the slack was wind in, there was actually something on the other end. It was a crappy tussle and a 28cm bream came in as the last fish for the night.

Bloody bugger thrashed non-stop on the grass and all I could think was why the F it didn't waste its energy trying to run my drag and instead gave me a hard time to remove the treble. Packed up for the night and left for dinner without knowing it was "LURING ON A FRIDAY THE 13TH NIGHT".
