Hunting For Our BBQ

Went out with Chen with a mission to... fish, of course. But also knowingly that we had a BBQ on Sunday cum Karaoke, we needed to grab some feed for the hungry mob. It was quite a windy Saturday but not that bad actually. Launched at Tunks quite early but not as crazy as the previous week. It was a bloody low tide but still do-able. There was this asian with a (kiong-kan) face who was sort of hogging the driveway into the ramp. Never mind. Later on, he needed help from Chen to push the boat into the water since he was alone. Never mind. Then when I managed to park the car and walk back, I was expecting to board Brooker from the pontoon. But that kiong-kan asian block Chen's access to the pontoon. KNNBCCB! Later when we pass through the spit bridge, we saw him squidding there, and yet again see his lanjiao kiong-kan face. Don't say already lah, say more hot more.

Got to balmoral to try and score some yakkas. Sadly, only managed 3, somemore they are Do-Re-Me! S-M-L! Funny man! Then the snappers and baby trevally come and ruin bait gathering, so LL we had to leave. Got to the cake and no one there, sweet. Anchored accordingly to the current flow and started cubing. Suddenly Chen saw a king swimming around the berley trail and it got him totally excited. We tried every mutha farkin methods to get him including bread as bait but he just didn't wanna be fooled! I gave up while Chen still continued, swearing along the way as he berleyed continuously. In the end, we changed spot and left there with Chen still swearing about that kingfish teasing him the whole morning. Hahahaha...

Reached the drum spot and did the same ol'. However, this time the anchoring was kinda done far away. Saw another boat not far away landed a kingfish apparently on squid bait. Suddenly there was this smaller boat with 2 adults and a child anchored right in front of us where we were casting to the structure. Chen said they totally jinxed us and true enough, we stopped getting the breams. Somemore they get to take advantage of our berley! Anyway, all they managed was an ok size flathead and maybe some pinkies. At least another player made up for the day, a 38.5cm trevally provided some entertainment. Once that boat left, the breams came back on again, really jinxer eh.. Unfortunately, couldn't produce the same outcome by scoring at least a frigate or something, but still good to be out on the water with Chen.

Got back HQ and quickly unload Brooker, but stupid me drove into the boat shed and hit Brooker onto the side fence, causing a big scratch on the side hull. Cause we were rushing to get maccas brekkie. Had our feed and proceeded back to clean brooker and tools. Chen left to meet Jenny while I fillet our BBQ fishes.

Told phil about the BBQ seafood in Singapore and he said it was nice. So he bought sambal oeleck sauce, plum sauce and lime juice to prepare it. It was our most successful grilled fish for the Team StMike BBQ machine, well done Phil!

Even aussie BBQ machine can do South-East Asian cuisine neh!
